Understanding Labadee

What It Is: A 260-acre fenced, private resort peninsula on Haiti's north coast, leased by Royal Caribbean until 2050. ONLY accessible via RCI or Celebrity ships.
Key Insight: Not an island—it's a secured peninsula. You cannot leave the resort. All food brought from the ship. Haitian vendors permitted inside. Currency is USD charged to your SeaPass card.

Pier Intelligence

  • Berths: 2 docks, handles Oasis-class
  • All ships DOCK—no tendering

  • Carts available for mobility assistance

Five Beach Zones

  • Adrenaline Beach: Main hub, bars, activities
  • Dragon's Beach: Closest to ship
  • Nellie's Beach: Calm, cabanas, families
  • Columbus Cove: Quietest, farthest walk
  • Barefoot Beach: Premium cabana area

Getting Back to Your Ship: Labadee Edition

Golden Rule: Since you can't leave the resort, the main timing risk is being too far from the pier when all-aboard approaches. Columbus Cove is a 15-20min walk back. Listen for ship horn announcements—they echo across the peninsula.

Step-by-Step Calculation Example:
  1. All-aboard time: 4:00pm
  2. Subtract pier walk (15min from far beach): 3:45pm
  3. Subtract gathering belongings (10min): 3:35pm
  4. Add comfort buffer (15min): 3:20pm

RESULT: Start packing up by 3:20pm

Add Extra Buffer If:

  • At Columbus Cove (+10min walk)
  • On a snorkel excursion (confirm return)
  • Using cabana (pack-up time)
  • Shopping at Artisan Market (+15min)

Walk Times to Pier:

  • Dragon's Beach → Pier: 5min
  • Adrenaline Beach → Pier: 10min
  • Nellie's Beach → Pier: 10min
  • Columbus Cove → Pier: 15-20min
